- Maintain gentle pressure by biting on the gauze for an hour
- Avoid all rinsing for 24 hours, and you may use warm salt water or mild antiseptic rinses after 24 hours if prescribed
- Some discomfort or pain is normal after surgery. Analgesic tablets must be taken as prescribed, if there is severe pain you can call your dentist
- Do not brush your teeth for the first 8 hours, after that you may brush your teeth and avoiding the area of the surgery for the first day
- Eat normal regular meals as soon as you are able after the surgery. Cold, soft diet is recommended in the first 24 hours such as yogurt. It is also important to drink plenty of fluids

- Avoid heavy biting between procedure appointments
- Brush and clean your teeth daily as usual
- If medication prescribed such as antibiotic take it exactly as directed on the prescription
- Take analgesics as prescribed by your dentist
- Do not bite on your new crown for an hour

- your gum may sore for few days, you may rinse with warm salt water, if it persist call your dentist
- Notify your dentist if the crown is loose or move when biting
- Notify your dentist if your bite feels uneven
- It is normal to feel some sensitivity after the preparation
- Caring for the temporaries: You can eat after 30 minutes, but take care as local anesthetic was used for the preparation. Avoid eating sticky foods, especially chewing gum and caramel. Brush normally but floss carefully. if the temporary crown come off we can re cement it
- It is normal to experience some hot, cold and pressure sensitivity after your appointment and your gum may sore for several days.

- There is no restrictions to chewing on your new filling; however, local anesthetic was used so please be careful when biting or talking so that you do not bite your lips, cheek or tongue. If possible avoid chewing until the anesthetic dissipates.
- It is normal to feel sensitive to cold or hot stimulus after scaling / root planing; Avoid hot, cold and sour stimulus for 2 days.
- Keep the area clean even if it’s sore, brush and floss after each meal.
- Mouth rinse: use warm salt water rinse 3 times daily or use the mouth wash prescribed by your dentist or dental hygienist.
